We have chosen to appoint Jean-Baptiste Piacentino to this position, who will bring to this mission his recognized expertise and commitment to open source and digital sovereignty.

The European cloud faces a number of challenges, including energy efficiency, industrial and political sovereignty, free competition and information systems security. Clever Cloud is convinced of the need for collective, ambitious responses to these challenges, based on a mutual understanding of technological solutions and the consequences of regulatory choices. Finding and adopting these answers can only be done through solid argumentation and consensus-building, to the benefit of everyone's interests. As part of Clever Cloud's Public Affairs department, the Cloud Diplomat will help to ensure the coherence and feasibility of the proposals put forward in various technical and regulatory discussion forums relating to the cloud, and will work with stakeholders to achieve these common goals.

The role of Cloud Diplomat will be filled by Jean-Baptiste Piacentino, who will bring his extensive international experience of digital companies and organizations. After initial positions in networks and telecoms, at Palm Computing, Philips and Telefonica among others, Jean-Baptiste was General Manager of the Thunderbird messaging software at Mozilla Corporation, where he was also behind the first services based on WebRTC technology, which today forms the basis of many open source videoconferencing services. He was also Deputy Managing Director of the European search engine Qwant, with particular responsibility for Qwant Junior, a children's version widely deployed in French-speaking schools. Since then, he has put his experience at the service of EdTech companies, and co-founded Unsearch.io, which unifies search across multiple cloud services, before joining Clever Cloud.

Nantes, April 6, 2023 - Clever Cloud is pleased to announce that as part of the implementation of the France 2030 plan, ministers Bruno Le Maire and Jean-Noël Barrot have selected its application to benefit from the SecNumCloud qualification support scheme operated by Bpifrance in close collaboration with the Agence nationale de sécurité des systèmes d’information (ANSSI) and the Direction Générale des Entreprises (DGE). Obtaining the SecNumCloud qualification will enable Clever Cloud to offer the "trusted cloud" necessary to protect the sensitive data of public authorities and companies that wish to benefit from the best technical and legal guarantees.

The implementation of this support system was desired by many players. It confirms the government's desire to help the French cloud industry meet its legitimate regulatory requirements, while continuing to invest primarily in the development and ongoing improvement of technological and commercial solutions expected by users.

As an expert in hosting and maintaining applications and databases in operational conditions, Clever Cloud is delighted that the government is actively supporting the French cloud sector in this way, with 21 perfectly complementary projects that testify to the vitality of the French software industry.

Paris, January 3, 2022 - Clever Cloud, a provider of automated solutions for the deployment and maintenance of online applications, has announced the arrival of Steven Le Roux as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and the appointment of Cédric Biron as Chief Operating Officer (COO). The company is thus continuing to structure its management to support its strong growth.

Expert in telecom networks and hosting infrastructures, Steven Le Roux began his career at France Telecom (Orange) and then at the Crédit Mutuel ARKEA group, where he was a network engineer until 2013. It was then that he joined the hosting company OVHCloud to develop the denial of service attack detection system before specialising in Big Data databases, then the development of monitoring solutions and managed services. In 2018, he was appointed by OVHCloud as Principal Engineer in the department in charge of the Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) strategy.

Steven joined Clever Cloud on 3 January 2022 as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and will now use all his skills and experience to lead Clever Cloud's technical teams, which are spread across France and are set to expand. He will be responsible for the management and advanced design of Clever Cloud's physical infrastructure, as well as leading the development of the software that underpins the automation solutions that are at the heart of the hosting company's offering. Clever Cloud also announces the appointment of Cédric Biron as Chief Operating Officer (COO). A graduate of the Mines ParisTech engineering school, Cédric joined the BNP Paribas group in 2008 at the Inspection Générale, and was soon appointed consultant within the investment bank (CIB), which led him to work in New York and San Francisco on international regulatory issues, strategic plans and change management. In 2015, he joined the "CIB Data & AI lab" at its inception as a Lead Data Scientist, where he worked specifically on data science, analytics, visualization and strategy projects until 2019 when he chose to become an external consultant and join Credit Leader as a Partner and CTO. Cedric had joined Clever Cloud in March 2021 as a project manager, and will now be in charge of the operational management of Clever Cloud as COO.

“On his arrival, where he methodically took charge of a multitude of internal projects and partnerships, Cédric very quickly demonstrated all the qualities and rigour he had acquired through solid experience with the leading European bank. It was only natural to appoint him Director of Operations, a position in which he will help us structure the company's organisation," says Quentin Adam.

Guillaume's arrival marks the beginning of a new phase in the company's structuring, enabling Clever Cloud to continue and accelerate its sustained growth in the cloud market. He will report directly to the CEO of Clever Cloud, Quentin Adam.

Trained as a lawyer specialising in digital law and the protection of fundamental rights on the Internet, Guillaume then joined Qwant to become the director of ethics and public relations for the search engine, before creating the legal department. In this capacity, he contributed to leading important battles against abusive practices of dominant position and for the promotion of European solutions. He joins Clever Cloud to take charge of the company's public affairs policy and to assume the legal direction of the company.
